Michael Mazilu is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Physics & Astronomy. His research interests include fundamental and applied photonics. He has pioneered the use of Optical Eigenmodes for beating the diffraction limit, sub-wavelength focussing, optimised structured illumination, compressive imaging, micro – manipulation, crosstalk free coherent control and Raman imaging. His recent work looks at the use of optical eigenmodes as a natural description of single photon states in light-matter interaction.
